You can pay WordPress $17 a year (special feature) to have your own personal website address; so instead of having something like iamcool.wordpress.com (this is made up), which is FREE and is automatically created when you create a WordPress account, you can have something like www.iamcool.com. You can also pay additional fee annually, if you want to do really cool stuff, like adding videos, writing CSS codes (Cascading Style Sheets - which is another variation of HTML) and a whole lot of other stuff.
I am currently creating a "mock" site of my own with WordPress. Once it is fully created, I will share it with everyone. Right now, it is still its development stages and I am using the free version. I am not paying any additional fee for additional features as for now. But that might change. And also, a lot of big corporations like CNN, BBC and TIME use word press. To learn more about these big corporations using word press, go to VIP WordPress Hosting.
The next site that I found is Google Sites. Google Sites does exactly what WordPress does, only it is not as sophisticated as WordPress would say Google Sites is much easier to use. And it also gives you more templates theme than WordPress. Google Sites is FREE and I am still learning how to use it. Once again, I am creating a "mock" site with Google Sites, once that is done, I'll share it with everyone. Which one do I prefer out of the two, I would say WordPress for now. But I believe this is from my bias towards WordPress, since I have some familiarity with it. But then again, this could change as time goes on.
If you're interested in website creation, try taking a look at these two sites and see what you think about them. And if you have a business, or you're an artist, or you have some type of organization that needs a website, but you don't want to pay a lot of money for it or it is FREE, I'll say WordPress and Google Sites is the place to go. Okay, so this is a really long post and I'll stop here. Until next time. :)
Be blessed!
